Definitely the most talked about interview yet! And I got the scoop...
A very emotional Evelyn talks about the incident that ended her marriage to former NFL star Chad Johnson with ABC's "Nightline". Her heartbreaking interview left many to believe her story after all. Many believe that Evelyn (due to her violent rants on "Basketball Wives Miami") was at fault for this incident that occurred. Leave it up to Chad to deny the incident as well, stating to police that Evelyn is the one that headbutted him. So with all that put into motion, Evelyn didn't stand a chance to those who hated her, who now believe she fell victim to domestic violence.
During the interview, Evelyn could barely hold back her tears when she said she still loves her husband "more than anything", but she is "afraid" of him and believes he "needs to get help." Evelyn goes on to say “its the hardest thing in the world to walk away from someone that you really love, but you have to walk away because I have to protect myself.”
And on the flip side, Evelyn also goes on to compliment her soon to be ex-husband by saying
“he’s a good guy that made a bad choice. He loves football and he’s very driven and a great dad,” she explains. “He made a bad choice that destroyed his life, and I hate that I’m connected to that.”
Which backs up a tweet that Johnson posted prior to this interview telling his 3.7 million followers on Wednesday, "I made my bed now I got to sleep in it".
When describing the way the whole thing occurred, Evelyn says she found a receipt for condoms in the back seat of his car three weeks after their marriage. She confronted the situation and he denied it saying he bought the condoms for his friend. Evelyn says she told him "I'm not sticking by you through this, I don't care if my marriage is the laughing stock of the world." Then what happened after that made Evelyn feel like her fairytale wedding and marriage just ended when Chad pulled her by the neck and headbutted her, which left her bleeding from her forehead. Evelyn received six stitches on her forehead from the incident. Evelyn then ran to a neighbors house who ended up calling 911.
When asked if she could ever imagine the day that she would speak to Chad again Evelyn responded with this...............when you click on that "Read More" button below:
A very emotional Evelyn says "no". "I said to myself, I'm never going to go through that again, ever". "I don't think any woman should ever have to feel like that or be fearful of her husband."
You can check out the interview in its entirety above.
Side note: I wish them both the best as well. They both lost so much and have lots of healing to do. I hope the world can see that even if you got fame and fortune, we all have normal lives with real issues. xoxo
